Oriental Cakes : The Strap
Algerian cake that you can decorate as you want, I personally prefer in white with small flowers.
Ingredients:
- - Three measures of meal.
- - 1 Scoop of butter.
- - 1 Pinch of salt.
- - 1 Tea glass of orange flower water.
For the filling:
- - 2 Parts finely ground almonds.
- - 1 Measure of sugar.
- - Vanilla extract.
- - orange flower water.
Frosting:
- - Syrup (made with 1/2 liter of water and 130g of sugar).
- - 1 Case of lemon.
- - 1 Egg white.
- - Icing sugar.
- - Dye.
Method:
Mix flour and milk and grill on fire.
Add to the mix the powdered biscuits, cocoa, vanilla and coconut.
Add the butter and gradually honey.
Work well until a stiff dough.
Roll out the dough and cut circles then put in the refrigerator for at least 1-hr.
Icing:
Let cool, then add the egg white and lemon.
Stir in icing sugar Sift little by little until the frosting is neither liquid nor hard to check spread frosting on one cake.
Soak the surface cakes in icing and let dry for a few seconds and then decorate half hazelnut or silver beads etc. ..
Allow to dry ... and decorate with melted chocolate
